II have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to better photograph the haze and dust here. You can see it pretty well in that earlier photos of the sunset and the one of palm trees(its not fog). I guess it is just inherently difficult to photograph 'bad visibility'. So the new solution I found was a series of about a hundred or so photos of the sun setting behind a false horizon edited into a time lapse film. You can clearly see the real horizon and see how the sun disappears before it even gets there.
