I have spent the last two weeks on a rotating cycle as part of an emergency response crew. We stay poised and prepped to respond to any likely scenario. We have a new attachment of Pathfinders that are specially trained to work out of Blackhawks in small numbers. Every few days, someone intentionally rolls a truck into a ditch for us to practice inserting the Pathfinders. It never takes long to figure out that it is a drill but it gets the adrenaline going anyway. Every now and then we follow a Medevac bird around if they need us to. Some nights we just hang out and catch up on maintenance.
Today we rotated off the response crew and I get a little bit of rest. Now I get to hang out and catch up on movies.
